Continuing on from Part 1, here is the second half of the Lilacquer Fifth Element collection, the cool tones. Left to right below: Super Green, Supreme Being, The Diva Plavalaguna, and Zorg Industries.
Let's get started with Super Green, a lime green shimmer that sometimes looks like other shades of green, depending. I used three coats of this one plus topcoat.
Here is it out of the lightbox but still indoors, looking a bit foil-y:
When I tipped my fingers up, Super Green showed it's got a more subdued green side, too:
Something really interesting happened when I took this one outside—the green cooled down to be almost minty:
Above was in full sun; here it is outside in the shade:
Supreme Being is up next. This is a blue shimmer with a purpley pink duochrome shift.
Above was in the lightbox; below is in less bright indoor light—look how soft and pretty this is:
And here's its pink flash, still indoors:
Outside in the sun, Supreme Being is a sparkly blue:
The Diva Plavalaguna is a blue shimmer that shifts to teal, or maybe the other way around. Here's two coats of it plus topcoat in the lightbox:
And out of the lightbox in my breakfast nook (not really a nook, just an open area in the kitchen where a table fits and the light is good):
And outside, being sparkly:
And posing for its portrait in the tree, because why should Roo-Bee Rhod have all the arboreal fun:
The last one in this quartet is Zorg Industries, a grey jelly with blue green shifting shimmer. I put two coats of this over Sally Hansen Choco-Latte, then added topcoat. It was sort of greenish in the lightbox at first:
Then it was sort of blue:
Then I pulled my hand out of the lightbox and Zorg Industries was sort of greenish grey:
I took it outside and sparklies happened:
In the shade, it's sage green:
Back in the sun but not as bright of sun as before, it's kind of weird and gorgeous all at the same time:
My favorite in this quartet is Zorg Industries—I am so looking forward to playing with layering that over all sorts of things. Supreme Being is my runner up; anything with purple and blue in it is my kind of polish.
Even though I've bombarded you with dozens of photos in these two posts, I didn't manage to capture all the faces of these polishes, so check out Cilucia's swatches of the whole collection Spazz & Squee. You can see these swatched over black and/or get your own bottles at the Lilacquer shop; full size bottles are $9.00 each (I'm not sure about minis; there aren't any in stock right now).
But wait just a minute before you click away—I have one more thing to share: a sneak peek at a polish from an upcoming Lilacquer collection. I don't know what theme of the collection is or what this polish will be called, but I do know I want to put this secret sauce over just about everything.
Here it is over The Diva Plavalaguna (no topcoat this time):
And over Supreme Being:
And finally, here's The Diva Plavalaguna plus Zorg Industries plus the secret sauce:
I'm very curious to find out what else is coming up but in the meantime I'm planning to have lots of fun layering the Lilacquer polishes I already have.
And now I am done with posting until Monday at least, so you've got all weekend to ponder these pretties. Thanks for reading!
EDIT: I was mistaken, here I am posting just a little bit more, because I was so excited to get these swatches up that I neglected to mention that if you order from the Lilacquer shop between now and Monday at midnight Pacific U.S. time and use the code HATONTOP, you'll get free shipping! Thanks, Lilacquer!
